VISION
God has formed within our hearts and minds a compelling vision of what we will become as we continually embrace his plans for us.

We are becoming a church !
Who We Are
.FAMILY
We know that no matter how much you love, care, and pray for those who are nearest and dearest to you, being a family isn't always easy.  The push and pull of a busy world can take its toll.  Marriages need supporting.  Children need guidance.  That's why you'll find people and programs available here to help you strengthen your family.
FRIENDS
Who stands beside you when you're down ?  Lasting friendships can mean the difference between difficult times and unbearable times.  Sharing painful moments with friends who really care seem to always make our burdens lighter.  We know how important good friends are and the joy they bring to life.  So, helping you build quality friendships is important to us.

FAITH
Learning how to enjoy the life-giving presence of God is a deep and abiding desire--though sometimes unconscious--within all people.  We've found a faith that fulfills that longing and empowers our lives in our relationship with Jesus Christ.  But a faith relationship requires nurturing through conversational prayer, adventurous study of the Bible, and engaging worship.  Our worship is built around heart-lifting music and heart-touching messages to help prepare you for everyday life.

The Athlete v/s The Disciple

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” (I Corinthians 9:24-25)

We have enjoyed viewing some of the Olympic Winter Games over the past several weeks, although we have had to chuckle with the knowledge that our back yard has more snow and ice than Vancouver seems to have! It is quite thrilling to see the effort and stamina of these athletes. Their dedication to their sport and commitment in training is quite admirable, and who can be unmoved by their sheer joy after the successful completion of their event? The prize is sweet because it is the reward for years of work, pain and sacrifice.

The apostle Paul used athletic events as an example in his letter to the Corinthians, urging the Christians to remain steadfast in their faith. In the same way, we would like to draw some comparisons of the Olympic Games and the Christian life:

THE OLYMPIC ATHLETE CHILLNAZ 1ST DISCIPLES
Every athlete has to personally be committed to his/her training, making the decision to work daily at the sport.  Priorities are adjusted with training in mind. Every Christian is responsible for his/her relationship with God.  Personal Bible study and prayer, personal righteousness is up to the individual, and no one else can make up for that.
Coaches work with the athletes, showing them how to be their best. Our discipline relationships "coach" us to be more and more like Jesus.
The crowds cheer so that the athlete knows that he/she is believed in.  They are happy when the athlete succeeds and supportive when they falter. The body of Christ cheers on each member, encouraging disciples by love, support, and prayer.
The athletes have a goal to win the prize for being the best. The Christian has a goal to win the prize of Heaven, and unlike the athlete, wants everyone else to win the exact same prize!

Let us be inspired by the Olympic athletes to be even more devoted to our calling to the Lordship of Jesus!  No matter the cost, we are assured of our heavenly reward!

Go Team Go!!!
