Chillicothe unites for Christ !
Running With The Sun In Sun Valley Arizona

Members from both First Church and Westside co-labor in sharing the Love of Christ to the Navajo Nation is Sun Valley Arizona.

During their stay the team replaced two roofs, disassembled another, renovated the male dorm, and made some major landscape changes. Although this was accomplished in just three short days it was not the totality of work under taken. Several relationships though out the Indian School and Reservation were made to continue the work against the deep rooted seed of ?Black Magic?, in which the Navajo Nation takes pride in being the number one ?workers of darkness? in the world as it pertains to Satanic influence.

Team members and school staff united in prayer and in the witness to these students as they continue to be distorted by their parents in their beliefs however, the school continues to press on and actively fight against such oppression.

What a joy it was to partake in the front lines of spiritual warfare.   What a joy it was to see God?s Warriors ?Stand Strong?,  and what a joy it was to feel the presence of God so alive and at work in the people of Sun Valley.

Below are some pictures from our June 2006 "Restoring Hope" Mission Trip to Slidell/New Orleans, Louisianna.

Summer Article

Ooops, I almost missed summer altogether but they say better late than never. As an update on the spring article we have received a great response for our collection of medical supplies for Leslie Burdett's trip to Kenya. There were some very important and expensive items donated and I want to thank all of you who took part in donating all of these things, they will be put to good use. Also, although we are not publicizing
it as much, we will continue to receive items until the end of September if you still care to donate.

We did present the CCK's in early July and have begun collecting them. So far I have received 11 filled kits. We will continue to collect the CCK's untill the end of September. If you need a list or a bag please let me know or if you have any questions.

As for upcoming events, on Monday Sept. 21st we will be having our joint missionary service with Westside. The service will be held at First Church this year beginning with a carry-in dinner at 6PM and the service at 7. Dean Flemming, a global missionary with the Church of the Nazarene, will be our special speaker. Come and enjoy a great time of worship and fellowship.

NMI provides various means of support
to our missionaries around the world.

Full-time missionaries (excluding volunteers) in the Church of the Nazarene are employed by the World Mission Department. Each missionary receives a monthly paycheck based on a standard amount plus a cost-of-living adjustment.
Missionaries also receive medical insurance, a pension provision, and other items (such as housing and travel costs).

The World Evangelism Fund
This comes from Nazarene churches around the world. Each church is challenged to give an amount based on its income as its participation in the world mission enterprise. Approximately 75% of the World Evangelism Fund is used for world evangelization in one form or another. The remainder supports the structure of the system through such ministries as office administration, literature, and other resources.

Faith Promise
This is a plan based on giving at systematic intervals. Through Faith Promise, people pray about the amount they should give for missions (over and above their tithe). The amount is often given weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Over time, churches find they raise their mission support and often go over their goal through this giving plan.

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries
In 1984, the Church of the Nazarene General Board instituted Nazarene Compassionate Ministries to meet the physical, emotional, relational intellectual, and spiritual needs of the world.

Work and Witness
Helping to build facilities for Nazarenes throughout the world, Work and Witness volunteers give of their own time and resources.  While working primarily in other countries, Work and Witness also aids local Nazarene congregations with construction and repair.

Alabaster
The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. It gives a sense of permanence, the attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to "put down roots." Eighty percent of the money is used in world mission areas, and twenty percent goes to multicultural congregations in the United States and Canada. Alabaster funds help provide land for most Work & Witness projects. The entire offering goes toward the construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
